👩💻 Steal My Secret Advantage
It was a warm summer night on USC’s campus. I passed moody streetlights, romantic brick buildings, and headed past stone arches and walked into a bustling open-air ballroom that was blasting salsa music.
That night, I had no idea that mere months later I would be arriving at my first ballroom dance competition with USC’s Ballroom Dance Team — and a few months after that, I would be selected for a showcase with several other couples.
I was just a freshman, barely eighteen but hungry to learn.
In that same year that I became a competitive ballroom dancer and won my first medal, I picked up a bow and arrow for the first time with the archery team. I hit the bull’s eye on my first try.
\What I was really at USC to do was to study film and television writing — and instead of “just” writing things, I produced my own stories as well and ended up being nominated for two College Television Emmys from the Television Academy for a scripted TV show I wrote and produced for LA36 and USC’s Trojan Vision.
By the time I graduated, I had literal Emmy nominations under my belt as a writer/producer. I would soon realize my dream of writing an episode of TV, and then hit a peak in what I wanted for myself in Hollywood. I also learned how to teach yoga (just for fun!) and had some amazing experiences teaching yoga on behalf of a nonprofit at a South LA College before the pandemic.
From there, I taught myself memoir ghostwriting, and began traveling the world as a digital nomad.
I built a six-figure career as a freelance writer, and after hitting all the goals I set for myself, I’m now planning what’s next.
So what’s the magic ingredient that has helped me get to where I am in my career and have all these amazing experiences?
I learn new things fast — that’s my secret advantage, and it can be yours, too.
If you’re a fast learner, you can do more in less time. You can cut through the noise and only do what’s needed.
In this post, I’ll teach you the 3 learning hacks that helped me carve out an extraordinary life (so far!):
