A few days ago, I confessed that I was feeling overstimulated — and guilty about wanting some alone time!
There’s so much to do when I’m traveling full-time, and I can’t help but want to do it all sometimes!
This is especially true in Japan: there’s so much to see and do here. I spent two days at Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea with friends hopping on coasters and trying ten different flavors of popcorn, and now I’m in Kyoto enjoying the cute streets and preparing to train like a samurai at a real dojo this week. (Y’know, normal travel things!)
But, as so many people in my comments section pointed out, it’s normal for energy levels to fluctuate. If you’re an introvert, it’s important to take time to recharge your social battery so you can enjoy the socializing that you do make time for.
I’m usually pretty good at balancing this, but this past week I felt my energy burn to a crisp. I’m reminded that — as an introvert — self-care and restoring your social battery has both mental and physical benefits.
